Enrollment Policies

Candeo Schools, Inc. operates independent public schools under charters from the Arizona State Board for Charter Schools.  As such, we are able to provide our students with a top-tier preparatory education in a fully public and tuition-free setting. Active participation, volunteerism, and support from our families are vital to our success, and also help our families to gain the full benefit of a Candeo education.

We ask that you carefully research our program to determine whether it is a natural fit for your child and in alignment with your philosophy.  Our school is well suited for children who are able to work within structures of rigor, high expectations and accountability, and programs commonly utilized in gifted education.

PLEASE NOTE:  For  kindergarten, those numbered 1-30 received placement and have been notified.  Numbers 31 through 99 are wait list numbers. (meaning position 31 is first on the waitlist and so on)

For Candeo Peoria, the OPEN ENROLLMENT PERIOD for the 2012-2013 academic year begins on November 1, 2011 and extends through November 10, 2011. If, for any grade level, the number of applications exceeds the number of openings, there will be a lottery to determine enrollment and wait list order. A lottery will be held by November 30 and you be notified if you receive placement by email the week of December 5. Those who do not receive a spot, will receive a wait list number, which will be posted on our website.  Applications received after November 30th are processed on a first-come, first-served basis, with applicants either being offered enrollment or being placed on a waitlist in the order that the application is submitted.  Applications for open enrollment will be accepted for grades Kindergarten - 5th only for the 2012 - 2013 academic year.

Our SIBLING ENROLLMENT PERIOD for the 2012-2013 academic year for current families begins October 3 and extends through October 21, 2011.   A full enrollment packet is required during this period to ensure your priority status.

Please note the following important points about applying to Candeo Schools:

1. Candeo has no admissions standards, but students may be required to do summer school work in order to prepare them for the rigors of the intense academics of the school.

2. Siblings of currently enrolled students are granted priority status.

3. If a family rejects or does not respond to an offer of enrollment, they are removed from the waitlist and must reapply if they wish to enroll in a future year.  A family may accept or reject within a 72-hour period via email.

4. New students who are not present on the first day of school are not considered enrolled.  Vacant spots will be filled.

5. If a family does not receive an enrollment offer by October 31st,  they will be given the opportunity via email to remain on the waitlist and their application will “roll over” to the next year.   Applications that “roll over” are given priority over new applications.

6. Completion of online applications or acceptance of an offer of enrollment does not constitute actual enrollment. Parents must fill out a complete enrollment packet in the spring to be enrolled in the school. Failure to submit that enrollment packet by the school's deadline will result in the non-enrollment of the student.

7. Candeo typically does not fill openings after the 100th day of school.

8. Kindergartners must turn five by September 1 of the year for which they are applying in order to enroll.  First graders whose 6th birthday occurs after September 1 of the year for which they are applying must participate in early readiness testing and meet Candeo targets for 1st grade entry in order to be enrolled in 1st grade.
